"Overruled" Onion Smothered Hot Dogs

DIRECTIONS: Saute 1 sliced onion in vegetable oil; add 3 tablespoons ketchup; 1/4 cup red wine vinegar, 1-1/2 cup water and paprika and cayenne pepper to taste. Simmer until thick and slather on hot dogs.
